Red Hat Named a Challenger in 2023 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for DevOps Platforms

This week, Red Hat has been positioned as a Challenger in the 2023 Gartner® Magic QuadrantTM for DevOps Platforms. This recognition is a validation of Red Hat OpenShift as an Application Platform, complemented by Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) to help accelerate the modern application development and delivery more consistently with greater security capabilities across the hybrid cloud.

The report analyzes the market for platforms with DevOps capabilities to accelerate the secure and iterative delivery of applications in production, anywhere. Gartner defines DevOps platforms as platforms that provide fully integrated capabilities to enable continuous delivery of software using agile and DevOps practices.

DevOps platforms enable team collaboration, secure software development, and measurement of software delivery metrics. According to Gartner, the Gartner DevOps Platform capabilities inclusion criteria are continuous integration, continuous delivery, and release orchestration, integrated solution for secure development, team collaboration and visualization of development workflows, providing value stream metrics to measure the flow of work, and secure software delivery.

Red Hat has been named a Challenger in this Magic Quadrant based on its completeness of vision and ability to execute. Red Hat OpenShift natively includes a lot of developer productivity tools, security and compliance capabilities, hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructure foundation, and support to scale application deployments. Ansible Automation Platform includes configuration and infrastructure automation capabilities that are important for DevOps.
